The pre and post-hire checklists are important documents that should be completed by you, in the presence of the hirer (unless previously agreed by both parties in writing), immediately prior to the commencement and upon completion of the hire.
Without completion of these documents, Camplify will not be able to support the recovery of the bond or process an insurance claim.
Think of them as documents in a conditions report - similar to the commencement of a housing lease!
Make sure you and the hirer thoroughly inspect the RV to avoid any potential post-hire discrepancies. The pre-hire checklist takes into account the following:
- Hirer identification checking
- Existing condition of the van and its contents (interior + exterior)
- Supplied food/items
- Existing damage (if any)
- Fuel and gas levels (if applicable)
- General cleanliness
- Safety checks
- Agreed mileage distance allocation (if applicable)
This process takes between 15 to 60 mins to complete (all depending on the complexity of the van) and should be allocated for you and the hirer to ensure appropriate care is taken once the van is handed over.
Spend some time with the hirer, show them how everything works…..a good handover is key to a successful hire!
When the van is returned, complete the post-hire checklist in the presence of the hirer. This is an opportunity for you to inspect your van for any damage or unexpected uncleanliness. Even if the van is returned late at night we recommend that you inspect it in the presence of the hirer.
You can submit your pre-hire and post-hire checklists through the Camplify app. Please submit these documents within 48 hours of the beginning or upon completion of the hire. Remember, any damage must be notified as soon as it happens and if that is not possible, no later than 24 hrs after the end of the booking. Damage reported after this deadline will void your insurance claim.
The checklists are critical for any hires that have taken place and subsequently require a bond or insurance claim. This documentation is used to support any claims made by the owner/hirer.
