Yes. DVLA checks are performed on all drivers and an RV will not be sent out on hire without the successful completion of this step. Please note Owners who are using their own insurance will perform these driving licence checks directly once the deposit has been paid.
In order to fully complete a booking, you and any authorised drivers must have a full valid licence that is not subject to any restriction or condition. Probationary licence holders and learner drivers are not acceptable and must not tow or drive the Camplify Equipment. In some cases, minimum age on hires may be brought down with written permission from Camplify. In order to be eligible to drive the van, you and any authorised driver must have not accumulated 6 or more points in minor offences, or any major offence during the past five years or have any such prosecution pending, or have been involved in one accident in the preceding three years.
You will need to confirm and send your driving licence entitlement details to us for compliance with our insurance policy. To do this you will need the following information for Step 1 below:
- Driving Licence number
- National Insurance number
- Post Code
enter your details as prompted. Select ‘Share your licence information', followed by 'Get a code'.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org supplying your share code from the DVLA website and the last 8 numbers of your driver licence. The email needs to be sent from the same email address you used to sign up to Camplify and you should quote the Booking ID.
All driving licence information supplied by the DVLA and .gov website is held privately by Camplify and will not be shared with hirers.
Make sure you bring your drivers licence when collecting the RV. The owner will take a picture of it and include the details in the Pre-hire checklist.
Paper licences are accepted however as long as it is presented in conjunction with another form of Photo ID such as a passport and a bill for proof of address. You are responsible for doing your own DVLA check. Please note without a DVLA code we cannot authorise a hire to go ahead.
To finalise the DVL verification process for insurance purposes, you will be asked to provide one proof of address (utility bill/cell phone account, issued within the last 3 months).
